Melissa Taylor
B.SC., M.SC., RAUD, RHIPMelissa is a co-owner of NexGen Hearing in White Rock and has over 12 years of experience as an Audiologist. Melissa’s extensive training and experience originated in the UK, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Audiology from the University of Bristol, and a Masters in Audiology from the University of Manchester. Melissa achieved industry recognition by earning the UK’s Audiologist of the Year Award in 2016. She is qualified to assess both adults and pediatric patients and is trained in cerumen management (ear wax removal).
Adam Medeiros
RHIPAdam is a Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner and co-owner of the NexGen Hearing clinics in White Rock and South Surrey. In 2015, Adam was drawn to NexGen Hearing by the company’s core values of integrity, customer care and quality service. Working in the hospitality industry for 14 years, Adam learned that an emphasis on customer service is paramount for any successful business. As a resident of the South Surrey community, Adam volunteers for the Sunnyside Acres Heritage Society, and serves on the board of directors for the Seniors Come Share Society – two organizations working to enrich the quality of live for seniors living in the Peninsula.

The life of a hearing aid’s battery is impacted by many factors such as the hearing aid model, battery brand, battery technology, and how the device is used. The model of the hearing aid is integral in determining the life of the battery. Some hearing aids are better than others in relation to battery consumption while others offer features that will more quickly drain a battery. Batteries come in four common sizes (10, 312, 13, 675). Based on a 16 hour day of wear, the average lifespan for a standard battery is listed below:
